BrickBox are proud to announce that we are working in partnership with Gloucester Civic Trust and the Cathedral Quarter High Street Heritage Action Zone. This will be as part of the Council for British Archaology’s National Festival of Archaeology, to create three large scale custom builds using LEGO® and based on Gloucester’s heritage and its historic buildings.
We will be creating a large Roman Forum and Basilica, complete with cut away sections to give you a glimpse into life in Roman Britain.
A recreation of Gloucester’s Westgate Street in the Medieval period with two historical churches and two buildings that are sadly missing from the past, the King’s Board and The High Cross.
Our final build will be the Foreigner’s Bridge, a large Medieval bridge that once crossed the river Severn complete with river traffic.
All three of these builds will be on display at the Folk Of Gloucester Museum during the week of Monday 25th July until Monday 1st August. The event is free to visit and open from 9am-5pm each day. We will also be running family friendly drop in workshops on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st of July from 9.30am-11.30am, 12pm-2pm and 2.30pm-4.30pm. (Times STC)
As well as this there will be a free competition to win a bundle of LEGO® sets that will run during the exhibition.
We’re really looking forward to this exhibition and are hard at work creating the builds as we speak so keep your eyes peeled for some sneak in progress pics and, as usual, we will be adding a full photo gallery to our socials after the exhibition has finished.
We hope to see you there and see below for a couple of our in progress build pics!
